Chic with a Twist of Prep

White Top: Kenneth Cole Reaction Outlet Store; Fuzzy Sweater: Marshall's; Skirt: Lauren Conrad via Kohl's; Booties: Vera Wang Via Kohl's ; Knee Socks: TJ Maxx
It has been a while since the last time I have made a post, and to anyone who may view my blog I am sorry about that delay! Before I went away to school, I relied on one of my family members to take my pictures for my blog.  Now that I am no longer at home all of the time,  I have learned that I have to set aside more time for myself to work on it and to find others willing to take the pictures for me.   I am now on my last week of break after completing my first semester at college.  Some people say the first semester of college is the toughest, but I am glad that I made it through successfully!

About my Outfit: TJ Maxx is one of my all-time favorite stores to shop in anytime of the year.  It is one of those stores that you have to frequently shop in because they are constantly getting new merchandise in their stores that you don't want to miss out on.  After Christmas, I took a trip to my local TJ Maxx and found these perfect knee high socks on clearance for just $4! They didn't have any packaging on them, which may have accounted for the very discounted price which was definitely fine by me.  After I bought them, I knew that I wanted to get use out of them right away so I thought to myself..what better combination is there besides knee socks and a skirt? I didn't want to cover up the look of the socks by wearing my tall black boots, so I paired them with my new black booties that I received as a Christmas gift. I found this black sweater a few months ago at Marshall's for only $16 and I immediately fell in love with the texture of it.  Last summer I had purchased this white top from the Kenneth Cole Reaction outlet store in Atlantic City, New Jersey for just $17!  Even though I was in summer mode at the time of my purchase, I knew that this piece would become an essential in my wardrobe because I did not previously own a plain white button down shirt.  Therefore, you should always keep your eyes wide open for classic items ahead of time, because that is often when you may find the best deals.
