Pastel Palette

Top: Marshall's, Skirt: Marshall's, Shoes: Steve Madden via DSW, Necklace: The Loft
There is not a more liberating feeling than wearing pastels in the summertime.  Pastels are the go-to color palette for summer clothing.  The breeziness and delicateness of the skirt coordinates perfectly with its light pink, blush color.  Paired with these Steve Madden block heels, I believed that the cutouts in the shoe went perfectly with the slit in the skirt.  Another way to go for that ultimate pastel look is with choosing your nail color and design.  My friend is amazing at doing nails and she did this floral design for me which I love!  It took me a very long time to decide what color I wanted to, but finally I decided on this light blue color because it went well with a lot of pieces in my closet, and you can never go wrong with a floral print in the summertime.

Polka Dot Favorite

Dress: The Loft, Shoes: DSW, Bracelet Set: Charlotte Russe, Earrings: Target

For me, having a classic polka dotted dress is an essential for the wardrobe.  A few years ago, I bought a yellow and black polka dotted dress from TJ Maxx that I loved so much and eventually completely wore it out.  After many years of wearing it, it soon got too small for me and it was no longer in great shape.  So, a few months ago when I saw this dress at the Loft, I knew that it was a purchase I had to make, and my mom agreed.  I am so glad that I ended up buying it because it is great quality and I can tell that it will last for a while.

My Huntington Photoshoot

Dress: Marshall's, Watch: Anne Klein (Via Macy's), Shoes: Franco Sarto (via DSW), Ring: Forever 21
One of my good friends is a very talented photographer, who is majoring in photography.  We went to Huntington together the other day, and he took some great pictures, that I wanted to share on my blog.  When I saw this dress in Marshall's, I immediately fell in love with the delicate details and spots of lace.  It is such an effortless chic look that is perfect for a day in the city or get together with friends.   I bought these Franco Sarto wedges from DSW for less than half of the price listed, thanks to a great sale and coupons!

Dream Come True

On July 8th, Express in Times Square held an event, which was celebrating the launch of their new denim collection, feauturing Kate Upton.  Saucy Glossie (Lindsey Calla) was also at this event and held a contest for one person to meet her and Kate Upton.  Unfortunately, I was not the winner.  However, my sister and I visited Soho for the day and since we were nearby, we figured we would stop at the event to see if we could get in.  Luckily, the security guards let me in, which I couldn't have been happier about.  So, I went up the escalator and to my left was a roomful of fashion bloggers, and Kate Upton.  I waited on a line to get into the event for a little while, but someone told us that in order to meet Kate, you had to have made a $200 purchase, which I didnt really want to do.  So I go off of the line and waited at the door.  Luckily, my favorite fashion blogger, Lindsey Calla, came out of the room and I got to meet her for the second time.  The first time I met her was at fashion week (below).  She is so incredibily amazing and kind, and I was so lucky to have had a long conversation with her.  She gave me a lot of good advice and it was an experience I could never forget!

My Senior Prom Dress

Dress: Adrianna Papell
Well I am now officially done with high school and am about to start college in a little more than a month, which is such a weird thing to think about! Just a few weeks ago, I went to my senior prom and had a great time.  One of the most exciting parts about the prom was looking for a dress to wear. From the beginning of the search, I knew that I wanted to have something different: elegant, beaded and not necessarily a prom dress. I first saw this Adrianna Papell dress at Bloomingdale's, and it was the only dress that I actually liked even a little bit and was in my price range.  However, the store did not have the correct size and color that I was interested in.  10 stores later, I went to Estelle's Dressy Dresses and did not like a single dress out of the thousands of dresses there.  While my mom and I were about to walk out of the store, my mom suggested looking in the women's section, which did not have nearly as many choices as the main section of dresses in the store.    After a few minutes of looking in this section, I found the same exact dress, in the correct size and color, that I had seen in Bloomingdale's and knew that it was mine.  To top it off, I wore my grandmother's earrings and bracelet, which were given to my mom a long time e ago. It made the night even more special that I was able to wear her jewelry.
