A Day in the City

Coat: Tahari marla wrap, Crossbody: Nine West (also here), Skirt: Joe B. via Kohl's, Chambray Shirt: Sonoma via Kohl's, Sweater: Charlotte Russe

Yesterday, I went to New York City with my sister.  For a while now, I have been dying to visit thriftshops in the city, so I had to take advantage of this opportunity.  Unfortunately, I did not end up purchasing anything, but it was still a good experience.  After that, we ate lunch at a cute little cafe, named Bite.  The rest of the day consisted of more shopping, at several stores including Zara, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Free People, The Gap, and Macy's.  Zara had a huge sale, and I bought one pair of black velvet-patterned jeans for $19.99. About my outfit: I was inspired about this coat, when I saw it being worn by a great fashion blogger, Brooklyn Blonde.  I loved the big collar immediately, because it creates such a huge statement, no matter what it is worn with.   I bought this skirt a while ago, since I have been wanted a full skirt like this one, after being inspired by another blogger, Atlantic-Pacific.  This chambray shirt was purchased from Kohl's for about $12,and I could not pass it up.  This sweater was given to me as a gift by one of my close friends.  I love the texture that it gives off, along with the cozy feel it presents.

Red on Plaid

Dress:Juicy Couture, Boot:Michael Kors via TJ Maxx, Coat:American Rag via Macy's
When I found this Juicy Couture dress in Marshall's, I knew right away that I could not leave the store without buying it.  This is currently the only plaid item that I have in my closet, and being that plaid is very in-style for the season, I had to buy it.  I l loved the spike details on the collar, along with the ones on the pockets.  I bought this dress for $30, the original price being around $180.  Great deals like this one, cannot be passed up.  I also found a few pictures of Carly Rae Jepson and Miranda Cosgrove wearing variations of the dress, below.
